Bernie was (and always will be) the patriarch of Catalina and LOCA. It is with great pleasure that I pass along an invitation by Jeannie Luttmer and her family and Ontario Sailing to a Celebration of Sailing in his memory. Please register at:

Due to COVID restrictions, the family postponed a celebration of Bernie’s life until this year. They are holding a fabulous complimentary event at the Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club on Saturday, July 23. LOCA members can help make this an extraordinary event by sailing into the club for the weekend. (Be sure to decorate your boats with flags.) Docks and anchorages can be reserved by contacting the club. If you can’t sail in, at least come for the celebration on Saturday, starting at 4pm. Enjoy the festive atmosphere of Games, BBQ, Corn Roast and Cash Bar. Your only cost (other than the cash bar) is a donation to Ontario Sailing. There is no other sailing event more important to Catalina owners than to celebrate Bernie with his family.
