Our season opener might not be the warm sailing weather we'd all love to have, but then again it is January and we are on Lake Ontario and expecting anything else would be absurd!

The LOCA season kicks off with the Annual General Meeting at the Toronto International Boat Show at the EnerCare Centre.

This is our most straightforward event for the LOCA group and covered our basics: membership, communications, and Treasurer's reports. Nothing out of the ordinary to report here.

The day was kicked-off by Jan Ploeger from Swans Yacht Sales who provided an overview of the current position of Swans Yacht Sales and new from Catalina Yachts.

For the 2024 sailing season we're planning on and working to confirm the following three events:

• Sail-In/Drive-In - May 25-26

• Rendezvous - August 17-18

• Post Haul-Out Brunch - November 10

The day was rounded-out by Shane DesLoges owner of We Beautify Boats and BoaterOS which is his newest venture and is designed to address Boat Owners needs; directory of Service Providers, references to Training Institutions and Strategic Partners.
